The poems that we have read in week one and two are different for several reasons.

One reason is that the poems for this week are more straightforward and doesn’t involve a lot of hidden meanings. I also felt as if the poems were more of a narrative like poem that just tells a story. In week one the poems told a story but had a theme/moral to it.

In week two when I read “Bless Their Hearts” I got from the poem that it was about the phrase “bless your heart” being used improperly others could say the poet was being sarcastic. In one instance the cliché phrase “bless your heart” is used towards his ex wife in line 15. This weeks poem “chicken bucket” is a more narrative poem and is just a story. the poem is about a kid who has a messed up life and sleeps with everyone and is an example of what a 13 year old girl should not be doing in pastime. In the poem she picks up tequila and a box of whip its and four pornos.
